Featured Project

IREP Montgomery

Infinitus Energy successfully delivered a groundbreaking project to the City of Montgomery, achieving high recovery rates that single-stream recycling programs cannot match. By eliminating the need for residents to sort recyclables, Infinitus Energy addressed the recycling needs of the community without requiring additional capital investment from the City.

Key Achievements:

  1. High Recovery Rates:

    • Infinitus Energy's innovative approach ensures a higher percentage of materials are recovered and recycled, surpassing the performance of traditional single-stream recycling programs.
  2. Convenience for Residents:

    • By removing the requirement for residents to sort their recyclables, the project simplifies the recycling process, encouraging greater participation and reducing contamination.
  3. Cost Efficiency:

    • The project was implemented without additional capital investment from the City of Montgomery, demonstrating Infinitus Energy's commitment to cost-effective and sustainable solutions.
  4. Environmental Impact:

    • The increased recovery rates lead to more materials being diverted from landfills, contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable environment for the community.

Project Highlights:

  • Advanced Sorting Technology:

    • Infinitus Energy employs state-of-the-art sorting technology to efficiently separate recyclables from waste, maximizing the amount of recoverable material.
  • Community Engagement:

    • The project includes educational initiatives to inform residents about the benefits of the new recycling system, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.
  • Sustainability Focus:

    • The project aligns with broader sustainability goals, helping the City of Montgomery reduce its environmental footprint and promote greener practices.

Benefits for Montgomery:

  • Enhanced Recycling Performance:
    • With higher recovery rates, Montgomery can boast a more effective recycling program, setting a benchmark for other cities to follow.
  • Reduced Environmental Impact:
    • The project significantly reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills, supporting the city's sustainability objectives.
  • No Additional Costs:
    • The implementation of the project required no extra capital investment from the city, making it a financially viable solution.

Conclusion:

Infinitus Energy's project in Montgomery showcases the potential for innovative recycling solutions to deliver superior performance and convenience without additional costs. By leveraging advanced technology and a resident-friendly approach, Infinitus Energy is helping communities achieve their recycling goals more efficiently and sustainably.

Project Information

IREP @ Montgomery is located at 1551 Louisville Street, on a 74+/- acre permitted industrial site in the City of Montgomery, Alabama. Phase one of the project is an advanced mixed materials recovery facility designed to receive and process all of the MSW collected by the City of Montgomery via a single bin collection format. The Advanced Mixed Materials Recovery Facility (“AMMRF”) is designed to sort out targeted materials to achieve up to an 85% recovery rate. The facility will have the capacity to process up to 225,000 tons per year of municipal solid waste (the “MSW”). Infinitus Energy was awarded the contract following a Request for Proposals (“RFP”) that was issued by the City of Montgomery.

  • Location: Montgomery, Alabama

  • Projected Opening: June 2014
